SCHEDULE

 

RING 1 – RIDDEN CLASSES – Judge: Colin Robins

Open to horses and ponies 4 years and over

9.30am (warm up and competition arenas on a surface)

 

Class 1: Best Turned Out

Open to all heights and riders. Riders may be led but lead rein must be attached to the noseband.

Class 2: Lead Rein

Open to ponies up to and including 12.2hh and riders 8 years and under. May be led but the lead rein must be attached to the noseband. Suitable bridles only.

Class 3: First Ridden

Open to ponies under 13.2hh. Riders 11 years and under. Off lead rein, suitable bridles only.

Class 4: Riding Club/Pony club type

For horses or ponies that are good all-rounders. Open to riders of any age. Any suitable bridle. Will be required to jump a small jump.

Class 5: Novice ridden

Open to any horse/rider combinations that have not been placed 1st or 2nd in any showing class.

Class 6: Mountain and Moorland – Small Breed

To be shown in their natural state. Registered or unregistered, Welsh sections A&B, Shetland, Dartmoor and Exmoor.

Class 7: Mountain and Moorland - Large Breed

To be shown in their natural state. Registered or unregistered. Welsh sections C&D, New Forest, Connemara, Fell, Dales and Highland.

Class 8: Cob and Maxi Cob type

Open to horses and ponies of any height.

Class 9: Show Hunter/Riding Horse

Open to horses exceeding 15hh.

Class 10: Retrained Racehorse (RoR)

Open to Thoroughbred horses 15hh and over, who have retired from racing and been retrained. Horses will be judged on conformation and way of going. Blemishes not considered. Horses must be registered with Weatherby’s General Stud Book or overseas equivalent.

Class 11: Coloured and Odd Coloured

Open to horses and ponies of any height.

Class 12: Blacks, Bays, Browns, Chestnuts and Greys

Open to horses/ponies of any height, riders of any age.

Class 13: Foreign Breeds

Open to all breeds found outside the UK. Can be shown in traditional tack.

Class 15: Veterans

Open to all horses and ponies 15 years and older, any breed or height. **Class may be split if sufficient entries**

Championship Class:

Open to all 1st and 2nd placings in the ridden classes. Champion and Reserve Champion awarded.

 

Ring 2 (on grass) – Judge: Felicity Wells

In-hand – 9.15am

Class 1: Youngstock

Combined class for yearlings, 2 and 3 year olds. Fillies, colts and geldings, small and large breeds. Colt handlers must be 14 years and over.

Class 2: Best Condition

Open to all horses and ponies of any age or height. Colt handlers to be 14 years and over. Class may be split stable/grass kept if sufficient entries.

Class 3: Best Child Handler

Open to any handler under 14years old. Handlers under 8years old may be assisted.

Class 4: Hunter/Riding Horse type

Open to all horses 15hh and over.

Class 5: Cob and Maxi Cob type

Open to horses and ponies of any height.

Class 6: Driving type

Open to horses and ponies any height.

Class 7: Mountain and Moorland – Small breed

To be shown in their natural state. Registered or unregistered, Welsh sections A&B, Shetland, Dartmoor and Exmoor.

Class 8: Mountain and Moorland – Large Breed

To be shown in their natural state. Registered or unregistered. Welsh sections C&D, New Forest, Connemara, Fell, Dales and Highland.

Class 9: Miniature Breeds

Open to ponies not exceeding 42inches.

Class 10: Coloured and Odd Coloured

Open to horses and ponies of any height.

Class 11: Blacks, Bays, Browns, Chestnuts and Greys

Open to all horses and ponies of any height.

Class 12: Veterans

Open to all horses and ponies of any height, 15 years and over. Class will be split if sufficient entries.

Championship class:

Open to all 1st and 2nd placings in any in-hand classes. Champion and Reserve Champion awarded.

(Commencing after the In-hand Championship class)

Terms and Conditions

1. The judges’ decision is final.

2. All instructions by officials, stewards and volunteers of the show must be adhered to.

3. Any objections must be made in writing to the secretary with 15 minutes of the class ending. A £15 deposit will be taken and returned if the objection is upheld.

4. Organisers reserve the right to cancel or adjust classes without prior notice.

5. No refunds unless the class is cancelled.

6. No responsibility for loss or damage to person, property, animal or vehicle will be accepted by the landowners or organisers.

7. No galloping on the showground

8. All stallions over 2 years of age must be bitted and under control at all times and are not to be shown by anyone under 14 years of age.

9. All hats must meet current British standards and must be worn, at all times, whilst mounted. These include, but are not limited to, standards: PAS015:2011,Snell E2016 onwards with official label, ASTM-F1163 2004a onwards with the SEI mark.

All handlers under 14years of age must wear a hat as above and suitable, heeled footwear whilst on the showground.

10. No horse or pony under the age of 4 may be ridden within the venue.

11. All entrants for M&M classes must be shown in their natural state.

12. Riders on lead rein may not enter another class off lead rein.

13. Riders/handlers age as of day of the show.

14. Dogs welcome on a short lead. They may not enter the arenas or yard. Please clean up after your dog. Do not leave dogs in hot cars.

15. Please take your litter home or dispose of in the bins provided.

16.Grooms entering the show ring must be suitably dressed.

17. The venue will do their best to provide suitable ground but please be mindful of unlevel surfaces and wear suitable footwear.

18: Children should be supervised, at all times.

19: Riding and handling horses and ponies carries risks. All riders and handlers should be competent and confident at the activity in which they are partaking to minimise the risks. All necessary and sensible protective equipment should be used.
